Strap yourself in, because Alanya real estate is something you will almost certainly be hearing a lot more about over the coming decade. There are so many towns and cities in Turkey so evenly matched that buyers have a truly difficult time choose. But not many towns can say they have a new international airport like Alanya has.

Alanya is already one of the top tourist destinations in Turkey, each year millions of Brits and Germans join those from around the world in enjoying some of the best sun-soaked beach holidays on the Mediterranean. Alanya property has seen among the fastest price growth in Turkey, fuelled by impressive holiday rentals demand, and of course holiday home buyers and expats.

Speaking of expats, Alanya is also home to the largest population of British expats in Turkey. And all this without an international airport; people wishing to holiday in Alanya would need to land Antalya international some 90 minutes away.

But this is all about to change; last week the Gazipasa airport just 20 minutes outside Alanya welcomed its first international flight, a Transavia Boeing 737 from the Netherlands was welcomed in a huge celebration. The airport was built at the turn of the century, but was only finally opened by TAV in 2009 after they successfully ended the legal wrangling over competition and other issues. It welcomed its first domestic flight last year, and operator TAV promised that international flights would follow once the runways could be expanded.

Now that the runway expansion works are apparently completed there is simply no stopping the airport now. With this new development, on top of its established popularity the Alanya real estate market is now expected to experience a mini-boom within the booming Turkish property market.

Alanya real estate has long held its own valuation compared to the rest of the Turkish property market. This is most likely because of its very unique nature, it is one of the largest cities in Turkey, but it is also a beach resort town with people so friendly you'd expect only to find them in a village. When people holiday in Alanya once, they are almost certainly going to go again, and are usually more than willing to pay handsomely for the privilege of owning a property.

Another reason for the higher pricing structure is arguably because Alanya has never been seen as one of the hot foreigner markets, by developers or by buyers. Alanya real estate developments don't tend to be the large apartment complexes found in the likes of Altinkum, but smaller developments; village communities of larger apartments and or villas. This is another reason why prices tend to be higher, but property still offers fantastic value for money.
